The Pictar Guide to shooting amazing sports and action shots

Learn how to make the most of Pictar's features and capture breathtaking action images.

Enjoy sports? Love taking pics with your mobile phone? Great! We created this short and sweet tutorial for people just like you!

Shooting high speed scenes outdoors (as seen in the video above), is entirely different than shooting still images indoors. When it comes to sports and action shots, or even catching kids in motion, there are a few factors you need to take into consideration, in order to get great pictures.

Here are 4 tips and tricks that will get you the best sports & action pictures from your phone.

1. Firm grip avoids shaky pics

When shooting sports outside, you need to keep a steady grip in to capture those great high-paced sports images. You can use a tripod, but we obviously recommend Pictar - the very best camera grip for your smartphone. The ergonomic grip gives you more stability and lots more choices on the fly - all the settings and options are right there at your fingertips.

2. Dial up the Shutter Speed to freeze the action

When capturing action shots and everything is moving real fast, you need to use a shutter speed of 1/500 of a second or quicker. To do that, simply navigate Pictar’s on-screen sports mode, and you’re good to go!

3. Get creative with dynamic angles

Forget the boring head-on pictures - get down low or get high up in relation to your subject and capture those wild angles that really show what happened in the shot!

4. Pre focus and be ready for the action

*Lock on your frame and press button halfway.

Once you find your angle, make sure you’re ready by pre-focusing. Simply press the shoot button half-way down, wait for the shot, and then press all the way down to catch it!
